This place has been completely revitalized. Best food in the city.
Recently visited Revel with friends and family. We reserved the entire bar area and we all had a fantastic time. Service was great, the tapas and appetizers were unique and tasty and the atmosphere was terrific. Would highly recommend.
Intimate but not fussy, spectacular bar area, fastidious chefs producing huge assortment of Canadian/French/Italian fare, much of it great for tapas-style sharing. Dinner for two w/an entree and glass of wine each, about 6 shared appetizers, and dessert came to about $120. Love the location across from Shaw and near Citadel. Been twice, can't wait for 3rd!
The food at Revel made me realize what people mean when they say flavours burst in your mouth. The textures and flavour were a perfect balance. One of the best meals of my life.The only reason its not a 5-star is because of the vibe of the restaurant. There wasnt anything to it.But Id go back for the food any day.
I had such high hopes for this place. The location is amazing. The building has character. The bar is gorgeous. The server was nice, easy to talk to, and efficient. That alone is worth five stars. Then we hit the BUT. The dead bugs on the window sill, the unusual menu (it is interesting but not suited for a diverse lunchtime crowd), the crunchy thick fries which tasted like dry old potatoes which we were assured were fresh, and the sloppy sorta fried chicken sandwich which at times I thought was fish. I want a restaurant to succeed at this location! But I predict the days are numbered judging by the lack of crowd on a sunny Friday afternoon. Please prove me wrong.
