Very good experience from agents and the rental office: vehicle was ready, however it was not cleaned from the prior rental and I had to request a cleaning during the inspection. Jay, the counter agent, made a special effort to clean the vehicle immediately and I was on my way 15 minutes later. HIs efforts were much appreciated. The vehicle is new and is in good mechanical condition. This is the reason for my rating. As an aside, the cargo van I rented has a lot of advertising plastered all over it, so it feels like driving a billboard for the company and for the rental rate. The rate advertised on the truck is somewhat misleading because the advertised $18.95 daily rate rate does not include the $21 daily commercial insurance coverage that must be purchased (not normally covered by nearly all regular automobile insurance policies) and an essential $8/day "Personal Assistant Service" for renting cargo vans. As I'm not really getting any deal, I would prefer to be treated as a regular rental vehicle customer and not advertise to the world that I am renting. I would look at other companies first before renting again from Discount because of the amount of advertising on the vehicle.
Great service from agents with special mention to Jay, who is the reason for my rating. I travelled from another province to visit alberta and Jay made special effort to pick us up from a location and got the car ready as soon as we reached! My experience was great with this guys. They gave me good deal and customer service. Usually I pay 100 buck of full size vehicle for day this time I paid only $135 for 4 days and that was too on long weekend. Specially staff member jay and priyank they were awesome.
This company deserves 0 starts but have to give them at least one to post. We rented a vehicle from this location while our truck was in the shop a few months back and since we own a business needed something that would be reliable. While filling the truck up with gas it failed to start and caused us to miss meetings with clients and lost sales. We took the truck back and were given a larger truck and at the cost of gas was not impressed. We waited at a set of gas pumps for three hours for the vehicle to start and when we tried to deal with the owner he just avoided us when we came into the store and would not return phone calls. Worst vehicle rental company ever.
