Pretty standard casino. It is on a reserve so if you dont smoke it might not be the place for you. The high limit area is always very smoky. Poker closes the same time at the rest of the casino at 3:00am. There are regular poker tourneys. The food is decent. The asian cuisine is probably your best bet if you enjoy that kind of thing. There is lots of parking and I believe they have complimentary valet.
Been going to the River Cree as a player in the RCHL and definitely can say its some of the most fun I've had in years! The place can keep you entertained even if you don't gamble or take part in all the hockey activities offered there. Shows and live concerts are common place and people must be winning at the Casino because its usually pretty busy! Keep this place in mind for a good time!
The River Cree Resort and Casino is a good entertainment spot for locals and tourists alike. The business is tightly run, and customer satisfaction seems priority. Although I've yet to actually stay in a hotel room, I visit quite regularly to play hockey and certainly don't mind staying for the casino and/or restaurant/bar afterwards. The food and drinks are good (delicious nachos!), and the casino is large. Although I understand the reasons behind allowing smoking inside the casino, I can't say I'm a huge fan of it, and choose to withhold a star because of it. The west side location of River Cree makes it somewhat close to West Edmonton Mall, which makes it a good location for hotel guests. If you're a fan of places that connect a hotel, concert venue, restaurant, and twin hockey rinks all in one complex, you will certainly not be disappointed with the River Cree Resort and Casino.
At 10pm, we decided to have supper. We went to Tap25 (their pub). A good, varied menu from which to choose. Decent prices. Good service and good food. (If you like real milk/cream in your coffee, just ask- they'll accommodate). Who needs more than that?
Our first time there. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was colder than expected (other quests came in and out quickly saying it was too cold), the hot tub was a good temperature. Very clean. We paid a bit extra for some added features. The snacks and drinks that were included in the fee were great and well worth the money, we highly recommend this. So was the breakfast, the sausages, and eggs needed to be cooked a bit more, and it would be great for the kids for a waffle or pancake maker or just cooked already and offered. But lots of food to choose from and containers still being filled with fresh items even as it was closing. The supper seemed to be leftovers from a couple days ago, the buns were moldy we let the lady know, the soup was overcooked, bland, and mushy. Also some of the cheese set out were old, discolored, and wet. We also had some difficulty with our room cards not working properly and the movie we rented went out 3 times had to restart it. But we were never charged for the movie due to it not working. The gym was fair. We had our kid with us so we never did the casino.
