We were taken care of really good. We werent sent home until all the details for our daughter illness and paperwork for our home hospital was taken care of and the doctors were comfortable with the care we would get. Thank you!
We had to bring our youngest son here for a sedated ABR at the age of three years old. He lives with autism and we called ahead to inform the team about what could be expected. They had everything prepared for us when we arrived to keep him as comfortable as possible and the whole procedure went incredibly smoothly overall. They had some sensory toys and a quiet room set aside for him and removed all of the drama that couldve potentially occurred from him disrupting other children or procedures. We never felt like a burden and they were all gracious and kind to us every step of the way.
I'm pretty sure this hospital isn't rated higher because of the Emmy incident... which is rather ridiculous. You can't just rate a place one star on Google Maps because something newsworthy happened there. This site is for talking about your PERSONAL experiences, not for pointlessly complaining about incidents that don't involve you. Besides, the owners will have learned their lesson after the incident already happened, so continuing to bash them wont help them.Anyways, I've been here a couple times. Once when I broke my arm and once when I dislocated my kneecap. I dont remember much from the first visit as I was only five years old, but the trip for my kneecap went better than I expected. The doctor who put my knee back in place did so quickly but unexpectedly, as she did not tell me she was putting it back in. However, it only hurt for a second. The rest of my time in the hospital went smoothlyI was out in around two and a half hours.
I, personally actually had to stay in this hospital for weeks on end, receiving chemotherapy, about 5 years ago, and I can say that I am so happy to have stayed in such an environment. I was diagnosed with a germinoma brain tumor in January 2013, and I remembered everyone being so kind, and caring. It was truly an amazing staff who really cared for me and wanted for me to become healthy. Just an amazing place that will also offer kids who are struggling with life threatening illnesses like childhood cancer a chance to go do summer programs, such as kids cancer care, or family camp. Honestly, a miraculous place to have stayed in. Helped change my life, so I would be cancer free. :)
My daughter and I regularly visit the stollery for blood transfusions and the staff are always more than great. 1 problem I have just run into is I bought a pop out of the vending machine with my Visa and got charged $6.00 for just 1 pop. Anyone else have the same problem? Use change or bills to save your money.
