Lots of different store with many different products. Traffic can be gonzo on the weekends. Parking kind of cramped. Staff vary from store to store. Mostly nice but not always.
The scale of this shopping plaza / district is quite a bit larger by many orders of magnitude the most you would find around Alberta . Due to this you'll find a much wider variety of services on hand as well as several options for competition of various similar stores such as liquor stores and others.Besides that you also find some unique venues like the rec room and other such places where you can go and get service's where you wouldn't normally expect to find them in a mini mall or shopping plaza.As such it is very likely that in the event that you have to provide for any kind of occasion or just a shopping trip in general you will find everything you need here.Of course with such a diverse arrangement of various services and goods available traffic and the traffic set up in the area can become quite confusing and congested at times.If you're looking for a one stop location to get pretty much everything you might require this would be one of the places you would go.
A huge variety of stores and, I always find what I'm looking for. Great place to shop and plenty of restaurants to choose for a quick bite to eat. The summer weekend there is a good farmers market across the the theater.
South Common has a lot of options to choose from but they are not all close enough that you could walk from store to store. With a toddler it's quite difficult buckling her in getting out, going to a set of stores, piling back in the vehicle and going to the next stores. It makes shopping difficult for people with families and if you are going on a Saturday or Sunday....good luck with traffic. All in all, lots to choose from but know what you are going for and where to get it. If your prepared and have a game plan, and don't mind walking, South Common suits its purpose. There are also several restaurants to choose from but again, of it's the weekend, better phone ahead and make reservations or be prepared to wait.
South common is a famous DISASTER. You cant find stores... you cant get in our out easily... it is such a mess. I only go in there if I am headed to IKEA and a store nearby catches my eye.
