This mall is very old. Not an "attraction" but rather a mall you wind up at because it's close. Not very encouraging when 15% of malls own tenants will not accept the malls owns Southgate gift card. With such vastly superior mall choices in Edmonton I wouldn't bother with this one unless it was close and convenient and offered a specific store that I required. In this case though it was the store and proximity that drawer me here, not the mall itself. The mall itself is really dated and I'm sure overpriced for what it offers (or fails to offer) it's tenants. Not a recipe likely to produce good bargains from said tenants. Even Taco Time's Tuesday special costs more here than other malls/locations. Premium prices found throughout this aged/non premium retail space. Just sayin.
They have such a good selection of premium stores here especially if you are interested in clothing. Their food court is great as well! Very appropriately sized parking lot too so finding a place to park isn't difficult during any time of the day.
Southgate has really become one of the great malls in Edmonton. A wide variety of shopping for the entire family. Since the renovation years ago it's brought new life to the mall.
Love Southgate, great atmosphere, lots of lighting, lots of parking. & Most of the security don't act like they are on power trips (they are actually helpful & handle situations reasonably).Its a bit more expensive to shop here for some reason, but its clean & elegant.
One of the two malls in Edmonton that have Apple Store. West Ed is hard to navigate through so I always prefer to go to this one. Other shops in the mall are also really nice.
