WOW! I can't believe I was nervous to go and repair my bike. Going to BikeWorks North was the definition of community building. I arrived as soon as it opened and was shocked with how quickly it filled up. I was amazed by how volunteers showed children how to fix their own bikes and the variety of people coming to learn, fix and engage in the biking community. If don't think you can fix your bike by yourself you are wrong! With the low cost and volunteer support you can do it all yourself for the fraction of the cost and feel empowered at the same time. I did!GO NOW!
Very friendly, positive, supportive folk .... great sense of community .... work done under their supervision, with their advice, direct help and your hands to the extent you can .... cost rather symbolic .... such places must exist and be known as examples of true volunteerism
