Last weekend I dined at this location of Nandos with a party 5. When I went to order I was hurriedly asked which side I wanted with my Grand Tabbouleh. The menu stated it was available for purchase alone or with 1-2 sides. This was not made clear to me. I ordered a bottled sparkling water, not aware of the plethora of beverages available to me at the fountain. The water was marginally flat. When our food came I had to get up and retrieve my own napkins and cutlery, something which was not made aware to anyone in our party. When we were served I was pleased with the quality of the sandwich. The potatoes I tried of somebody elses were great. There wasnt enough dipping sauce for my friend and he asked our server if he could have some more. Uh no. Youre gonna have to pay for that, she said in a chastising tone. My friend proceeded to ask the second server and she was more agreeable. I would be happy to get you some more sauce. There is an additional $1.50 charge. Is that ok? This restaurant could be a lot better if the staff were more informative and friendly. Also a change of music would be adviseable. It was repetitive in an anxiety-producing way.
I used to love coming to Nandos when it first opened. The service was great, the staff was friendly, however, now it seems the quality and customer service took a downhill slide. I have tried to give many chances, but for what you pay, the portions are small. I often order off skip the dishes, but when I received my food today I decided I will no longer eat at Nandos. I got two skewers and there was hardly any chicken for eight bucks. The lemon and herb flavour is not there. The sandwich I ordered came with a huge tomato and small piece of chicken and the wings were soggy and flavourless. The only thing I would consider buying was the lemon and herb sauce if it was bottled and sold. Not ordering here again!
Highly recommended the potato wedges for a side, good spice and nicely crispy. Be warned the medium sauce does have some kick, so if you're like me and think you can handle more than you can, try some in a cup before ordering. That way you eat enough supper and not watch your spice immune significant other gobble hers, and your food. What I was able to eat was excellent however. Just have to go back got some less spicy option.
I really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is unique and they have a different twist on the whole order process. But it's fine. Clean restaurant with good service and reasonable prices.
This Nando's is great, it's always clean, the staff are well trained and efficient and work as a team, which is evident in the consistent quality of the food served regardless of when one visits. Highlights for us are always the roasted piripiri vegetables and the garlic mash. The chicken comes with a choose your own spice heat level and medium is good for me. Five stars for being an excellent Nando's. Pop in for a cheeky one.
