Great location, really helpful staff and a huge selection. I've certainly spent far more money here than I should have, but everything I've bought has exceeded my expectations, and gotten a lot of use. The few things I've purchased that didn't work out for me were easy to return, no questions asked. MEC and general and this location in particular are a huge part of my outdoor life, and I frequently recommend their brand, as well as the brands they sell.
I went in for help finding a rack and panniers for my bike, as well as some spare parts for my daughter's. They set me up with good value gear, with credible advice based on their own experience. The mounts on my bike were hidden, and they showed me how to set them up. They gave me the spare parts for free. I couldn't find the kids bike shorts, a woman came and emptied the rack to find me some the appropriate size. An excellent experience overall.
Excellent service here. I went in hoping to buy a hiking backpack that was on clearance but thanks to Nancy, we discovered it was not the right size for me. She helped me pick out a much better fitting one (even put weight in the bag and adjusted all the straps to make sure it fit right) and suggested an add on item that would make flying with a hiking backpack worry free. It's great having knowledgeable staff who make sure you're buying the right gear. Thank you Nancy and thanks for the suggestions for our Europe trip!

We discussed bringing down the weight of a hiking pack and I realized how little I've been paying attention to my weights and that for similar prices I could have cut my pack weight by 20% at least. With people like him working there I don't know why I shop other places sometimes.
I went in for a flat tire and left with a brand new tire and tube for $42, $5 lifetime membership and installation included in the price. You could not take the look of happiness and satisfaction off my face all the way home. Now I have a nice street tire I expected to pay $60 for. Great service and I'm going back for a tune up just because I am so impressed. Thank you MEC for the awesome experience.
