Great hotel in a perfect location with reasonable rates. Lots of great food options nearby. Very nice hotel located in heart of Edmonton, very friendly staff.
I am actually very disappointed in my experience at the Sutton Place hotel. I had booked my stay over a year in advance in preparation for my wedding day in the Royal Suite and the adjoining room.I called the day before to inquire about parking services for my hair/makeup team. They told me to add their names to a list so they would be given keys instead of me having to come down at 5am.I also called the day before my check in and asked if early check in was available. The person on the phone informed me the room was already prepped and ready for check in so I could arrive at anytime.Imagine my disappointment when I arrived at 1:00pm and they told me they weren't ready due to "fixing the windows."This was the day before my wedding, so I had a lot of things to do. Prepping the room for my bridesmaids and I was one of the things on my list of a million other things. I had to wait a half an hour of time I didn't have to have access to the room.I was then told there had been a mix up and the adjoining room was occupied due to a booking error. I was extremely upset by this as I wanted everyone to have access to the suite and be together. The staff tried to accommodate this by providing me with two other rooms across the hall, but I do not feel this had the same effect that I had imagined or wanted. I also did not need the two extra rooms and the staff kept hinting that I wouldn't have to pay for the extra room... that I didn't need. One last thing that really disappointed me was the front desk the morning of my wedding.I got a call from my hair stylist asking me to call down to the front desk as the concierge wouldn't let her upstairs until I did. I had to do this with every single hair/makeup person that arrived even though I had called the day before to inform them and give their names. She told me there was no note on the file, even though I had called and spelled out all their names the morning before.I also was told by every single hair/makeup stylist that the front desk staff was rude and dismissive to them prior to them having access upstairs. This was disappointing and definitely left a bad taste in their mouths.Overall, for a hotel that is supposed to have high standards of service, I really feel like I got the short end of the stick. I tried to plan everything ahead of time so I could be organized, but nothing I did even mattered as it was neglected by the Sutton Place staff. I paid a good amount of money for the one night, but don't feel like it was worth it. The solution of giving me an extra room I didn't need is not sufficient for the disappointment I felt on my wedding day.I would not recommend this hotel for wedding stays.
We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The pool was closed unfortunately during our stay but other then that we enjoyed it.Were coming back next July for a Convention for a few days...
Even tho the place was packed because of the Keith Urban concert, we got seated right away. Drinks arrived swiftly as well as the food. Everyone was on point and the service was outstanding. Very impressed!!
Solid hotel. Nice rooms and beds. Good location to the mall with access to food. I do wonder if the thermostats will ever be renewed?
