Here's what I liked best about Two Men and a Truck:Once I got past the initial recording, someone answered the phone quickly. This is a LOCAL company, not a corporate branch. That means when you give an address, the staff know the area you're talking about. It also means that communications happen quickly. I was able to get the help I needed that very day, to show up in less than 3 hours -- amazing on a Friday! Once they showed up, they were ready to go and friendly. It was not an easy job, but we figured out how to make it happen, and because we came up with a plan together we were able to shave almost a full hour off the estimated cost. That saved me a good chunk on money! The third thing I like best about Two Men and a Truck: the theme song! If you do have to be put on hold, there's this cute jingle, like for a TV sitcom. Moving can be stressful and difficult, but the prompt service, professional skill, and friendliness of the staff really took the strain off my shoulders. Thanks!

We used Two Men and a Truck twice over the summer of 2018 while transitioning between two homes that had conflicting possession dates. The plan was to hire Two Men and a Truck to move all of our belongings into a storage unit for roughly a month, then have them move from the storage unit to our new home. The first move went fairly well, however, their driver had a previous commitment and needed to leave half-way through the move. An hour or so was wasted dealing with the driver and Two Men and a Truck finding a replacement who could complete the move. I can say the movers did pack and protect everything well, secured everything with tie downs and everything made it into storage roughly 11 hours later. I did have to pay OT premiums, but in the end everything was left in storage wrapped and protected ready for the next occurrence. The final move ended up being a much worse experience. I was told they were adding an additional mover to shorten the move time. This made sense, as the majority of the time previously, using two movers, one was just standing around waiting for the other one's assistance anyhow. While the second move happened much more quickly, nothing was protected or tied down while be loaded into the truck, even worse, they were using other possessions of ours to wedge between large items like couches that weren't tied down or secured properly. While still at the storage unit, I called and raised my concerns with the company. Their manager assured me that everything would be fine and make it to our home intact. WRONG. We ended up with a few damaged pieces of furniture, with obvious severe abrasions, even multiple rips in an expensive leather couch. It's now been over 2 months since claiming the damage, without any kind of resolution whatsoever. Every time we call, even though they'd supposedly acknowledged the required repairs; we get a "it's still under investigation" response. In the end, we overpaid for 2 moves, ended up with $8000 of property damages with little to no customer service or ownership of their failures as "professional movers". Still waiting for resolution.Update: Now weeks later, still have NOT heard back from Two Men And A Truck regardless of their publicly posted promise to contact us to resolve our matter which now goes on 3+ months.

I'll start with the good: my stuff arrived un-damaged. The movers did a good job of protecting my stuff. Now for the bad (this list is a lot longer). The driver got pulled over and wasn't allowed to continue driving as per the instructions of Alberta police. This was because he had all ready been driving too many hours that day. This is extremely negligent and hazardous to public safety. When I hired movers I assumed they would follow driving laws. They willfully ignored them. This resulted in a 4 hour delay. They left my apartment at 12:30 and didn't arrive in Calgary until 8:45. The drivers tried telling me there was only a 2.5 hour delay. Very odd since the drive took me 3 hours precisely. Since they arrived so late there was no one to lock the elevator for them, so the move in took a lot of time. They could not figure out how to set up my couch (it is tricky to be fair) because the guy who did it wasn't there anymore since he couldn't drive the truck. They also didn't have their own tool box which I found very odd since I let the company know in advance that I would need furniture assembled. I called the company yesterday about the time discrepancy and they refunded me for that. When I asked about further compensation for the inconvenience the man was very rude and dismissive on the phone. He made it seem like they had all ready done me a favour by refunding the money that I had been overcharged. I am beyond frustrated that they won't take responsibility for their error. When I hired movers I assumed they would follow Alberta law. I never would have hired them if I realized they don't take public safety seriously. I highly recommend you hire someone else, even if the quote is higher.

Can't say enough good about these guys. Had to move a very difficult old 40"tube TV (305)lbs. down a open riser curved staircase to dispose of. The guys did a fantastic job moving this heavy object without any bump or scratch anywhere. Hats off to the whole crew. It was all done at the price quoted, they came promptly at time quoted and did a excellent job. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a moving company.Regards Kurt

Let's move ourselves you say. Let's get out friends to help you say. It won't be too bad you say. We'll just rent our own truck you say. Scrap all of that, they are lies and you know it. Rather than that, use Two Men and a Truck! My wife and I have moved ourselves with friends and we've helped move friends. It sucks. We had our stuff in boxes ready to go, they came with the right sized truck and manpower they knew from the simple online estimator. They took care but with efficiency to wrap our large items in their own moving blankets and wrap to protect our items. Even in the +30 degree heat they didn't slow down and were amazing to work with. Top notch service!! Cheers!
